Art Retreat - for a morning...

These images were created on my Saturday morning "escape to art", before visiting all the wonderful art shows that were going on around St. Pete. Is it any wonder this place is inspirational? I love it here.

I love going to see what other artists are up to, and over the weekend we ended up visiting three seperate shows. One was at Baywalk, very interesting. Then we went to Williams park - the little weekly show has an air of freshness to it, and the authenticity of the venue (complete with the homeless guys hanging out) felt like a great place waiting for the big break! Then we visited the show at the Temple Beth El - what an inspiration! Absolutely unbelieveable work! Lots of it!

Rebecca and Emma...plus 8/9ths!

It must be the season for mommy's to be to come and see us at the studio - and we're delighted! Beautiful little Emma came with her mommy Rebecca, and we had a very quiet and calm session...Emma's going to be a great big sister! Those eyes, my goodness! We can't wait to meet
the new baby!

Jill and Tyler...plus 8/9ths!

Jill and Tyler came to visit, and although Tyler wasn't sure he really wanted to be there, he eventually warmed up to the idea of smiling for me (his mom says he's a flirt). He didn't wander too far from Mom though, and we got some great expressions of this not-for-long only child...his baby brother or sister is due very soon. His mom Jill was just glowing with the beauty of a Mom to Be, and I am honored that they will add my portraiture to their collection of Art in their home.

Dawn of a New Day...Inauguration Day (and okay, before too)

I know it's been awhile, sorry...I have to get used to this blogging thing - but truthfully, today was a great day to add to the blog! I decided I wasn't going to just be alone watching this, that I wanted to be with like-minded Americans, and the Globe Coffee Lounge in Downtown St. Pete was a great choice! All eyes were on the big screen as Mr. Obama took the oath, and we had a great time! We even took photo's of everyone (who wanted one) with Mr. Obama...(well okay, he looked like Mr. Obama anyway!). I'd like to think I've made some new friends, and somehow contributed a little something along the way...If you haven't been to the Globe, you have to check it out! Okay, lots of editing to do - 1-20-2009.

Durst Family...what a group!

Over the Christmas-New Years's break from school, the Durst family came to the studio to have some special images made - all three of their sons are now musicians - like Mom and Dad - and we wanted to capture this very special time in their lives. We had lots of fun with dragging the instruments around outside (thanks guys, you were great!), and returned to the studio to do some more traditional images...these three were some of my favs. It's such a funny thing when you run into someone who's connected to your life - Bill's Dad was one of my favorite mentors who worked with the Largo Band of Gold when I was in the band in '78 and here I have the privilege of taking his son's family photographs.

I just love my clients - they're great! (Borrowed from Tony the Tiger, of course)...
