Miss Jr. Sungoddess Crowning

When Lisa from the Festival of States had a need for a photographer for thier 2009 I enjoyed meeting these beautiful, intelligent movers-and-shakers from our local high schools!

The ceremony concluded an annual scholarship competition, and the evening included a fun fashion show in casual wear, evening gown modeling, and an interview question posed to each of the young ladies on stage before a panel of judges (and an audience filled with loved-ones). I was in awe of the poise, confidence, and sincerity that each of them exhibited. To view all of the event photo's, please visit http://www.millersalbums.com/?event=14519WFOSJS and enjoy!

All Call for Grads of 2010

We've posted an all call for Grads of 2010 who want to be involved in the Studio Ambassador program. It's a fantastic way for Seniors to earn a kickin' Senior Portrait portfolio, and a great way for me to meet new friends. We're organizing a team of teen advisors, so we can talk about what incentives they want (ipods?, money?, Photo's?) and how the program will work. Right now, we are looking for twelve to fifteen Seniors, involved in various activities in school in Pinellas County who want to first be subjects for awesome Senior Photo's, and then work with the studio to get to know others while earning great pay in the form of these incentives the committee recommends. Get ready, get creative! Call Tammy if you know someone who'd like to be considered for an Ambassador position.

Autism Speaks "Walk for Autism" coming soon!

Last year I made an in kind donation to one of the organizations I believe to be among the most important in the World - Autism Speaks. They have an annual walk in Tampa, starting at MOSI (it's only a 1 mile walk). The air was buzzing with excitement as teams that had raised donations for research to find treatments and even a CURE for Autism had their brightly colored shirts and smiles beaming. I'm toying with the idea of getting a team together this year, as I'll have my girls the weekend of the walk, and I really want to instil a sense of community in them. Sooooo, anyone who wants to either sponsor or walk with us, please jump on our team! We'd love to have your company! Write this down: Saturday March 28th,
Registration begins at 8:30, Walk at 10 am.
Yummy snacks and new friends!

Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio was there to show her support for the wonderful work AS is doing...Congresswoman Castor was there as well! It was AWESOME!

Miss Savannah

What a personality in such a small little package! Hey, small but mighty to be sure!

Miss Savannah is interested in modeling, and her mom brought her to play in the studio for her "head shots". Of course, I have so much fun when I have someone so absolutely adorable entertaining me! Thanks, Savvy - come back soon!

Blake comes to visit!

A very special young man named Blake came to visit the studio last week, as my last model for the Spring Chicks and Bunnies upcoming promotion...I really appreciate his Mommy Charlene bringing him on such short notice! They teased me with their beautiful new baby, maybe we'll see her in the studio for her portraits soon!

Blake is a little on the shy side, which makes for some wonderful inquisitive expressions. If anyone has a preschool or private school they would like me to contact for this promotion, just call the studio! Thanks again Blake for coming to visit!

Spring chicks!

Well, we had so much fun today with two of the most beautiful little girls! It makes me miss mine being that small, what a wonderful age! These girls came in with their mommies (thanks moms!) to model for our Spring promotion. We'll have chicks, ducklings, and even a baby bunny soon! The studio will have the actual promotion during select weeks in March and April, and we're taking this set on the road to (a limited number of) lucky preschools in the area! If your child attends a preschool that you would like for us to add to our list, please call the studio for details!

Madison

What a doll! We "discovered" this beauty at one of the local preschools, and her portraits were so beautiful we had to call and ask if she would come to the studio. Her mom did a great job bringing lovely spring colored dresses, and Miss Madison was just like a little princess. She did make an adorable little "embarrassing" noise and we captured the "oops!" moment...after all, she's a little lady but she's still a little girl!

Elizabeth

Elli, please, she likes to be called. This little doll was referred to us by our favorite OB office, Bay Gynecological Associates (thank you, thank you!). Wow, she has personality plus, and there's nothing more fun that a little one with some mischief up her sleeve. Elli was very patient, and changed dresses and everything! At the end, we told her she could visit with on our new lamb (whom she named Brian after her Daddy) and so she put her bunny ears on and hopped right on! Hey, who am I to tell a budding artist what looks good? Elli gave me the sweetest gift of all when she proclaimed "I want to stay here all day!" I wasn't too hurt when she changed her mind soon after, because Grandma was waiting for a visit from them! Thank you Elli, and Mom...we so enjoyed meeting you!

Art Retreat - for a morning...

These images were created on my Saturday morning "escape to art", before visiting all the wonderful art shows that were going on around St. Pete. Is it any wonder this place is inspirational? I love it here.

I love going to see what other artists are up to, and over the weekend we ended up visiting three seperate shows. One was at Baywalk, very interesting. Then we went to Williams park - the little weekly show has an air of freshness to it, and the authenticity of the venue (complete with the homeless guys hanging out) felt like a great place waiting for the big break! Then we visited the show at the Temple Beth El - what an inspiration! Absolutely unbelieveable work! Lots of it!
